Schuylkill County Joins National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

    


Schuylkill County Sheriff Joe Groody, Schuylkill County Drug and Alcohol and local Law Enforcement have announced they are participating in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, on Saturday October 28th, 2023, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
The following locations will be collection sites around Schuylkill County:
  • Ashland Police Department: 401 South 18th Street Ashland
  • Butler Township Police Department: 211 Broad Street Ashland
  • Cass Township Police Department: 1209 Valley Road Duncott
  • Coaldale Police Department: 221-221 3rd Street Coaldale
  • Coaldale - Saint Luke's Hospital:  360 West Ruddle Street, Coaldale
  • Frackville Police Department: 42 South Center Street, Frackville
  • Girardville Police Department:  210 B Street, Girardville
  • Hegins Police Department: 417 Gap Street, Valley View
  • Mahanoy City Police Department: 239 East Pine Street, Mahanoy City
  • McAdoo Police Department:  23 North Hancock Street, McAdoo
  • Minersville Police Department: 15 North Delaware Avenue, Minersville
  • Orwigsburg Police Department: 209 North Warren Street, Orwigsburg

This is a one-day event that is free of charge and open to everyone. The program is anonymous. You are encouraged to remove your personal information from the prescription labels. Participants may dispose of medication in its' original container or by removing the medication from its container and disposing of it directly into the disposal box.

All expired or unwanted controlled, non-controlled and over the counter medicines are accepted. Also liquid products, such as cough syrup should remain sealed in their original plastic container. 


The following items are NOT accepted: glass containers, intra-venous solutions, injectables, syringes and illegal substances such as marijuana or methamphetamines.
